Our Buttercream
We mainly use either Whipped cream or Swiss Meringue buttercream for all our buttercream cakes. Swiss Meringue is a stable, light, and fluffy buttercream. It is not too sweet and will melt in the mouth. Whipped Cream Frosting is light and airy and tastes like Ice Cream. We use American buttercream only on request as it has very high sugar ratio. All our fondant cakes are first frosted with Swiss Meringue buttercream before they are covered with fondant.
How to Order
To order any of the cakes in our online collection, we require 2 days (48 hours) notice. However, for more complex designs, we require more days depending on the complexity of the design.
- Editing an Order
You can make changes to your order as long as there are 3 or more days until your order is due. That means that for a cake due on a Thursday, we would need to information about changes to your order by Monday. All you need to do is send a message with details of your modifications to our WhatsApp line. We will review them and see if it changes the price of your order. - Cancellation Policy for simple celebration cakes
If you cancel 5 working days or more before your cake’s due date, we will offer you a full refund. That means that for a cake due on Tuesday we would need your cancellation notice no later than the Wednesday of the preceding week.
If you cancel 4 working days before your cake’s due date, we will offer you a store credit in the amount of your order total.
If you cancel within 2 working days of your due date, we will charge you the full price of the cake.
Pickup and Delivery
Cakes can be picked up from our store location. Those cakes should be placed on a flat leveled position in the car preferably the boot of the car. For saloon cars, the seat has to be propped up to ensure that the cake is seating on a horizontal and not slanted position.
However, we advise that some cakes can only be delivered by us due to the complexity of the design or how tall the cake is. Party or Wedding cakes are to be delivered on the day of the event and to the location of the event. In the occasion that such cakes are requested to be delivered earlier, we won’t be responsible for anything that happen to the cake after we deliver.
Weddings and Custom Celebration Cakes
Due to nature of our work, preparations for the cake starts weeks or even months in advance. We make details that are unique to each cake and most times cannot be reused on another cake. Hence, cancellation of the cake order a month to the delivery date attracts 50% (of the total order price) penalty fee. Cancellation a week to the delivery date means no refund.
We require 70% payment at the time of booking. Once your deposit is confirmed, your order is booked for the requested date. The remaining balance is due 2weeks prior to delivery.
We will require a sturdy table on a leveled floor at the venue. The table is to be decorated by the event decorator and not by us
Once cake is released or delivered to the customer in good condition, the total responsibility of keeping the cake safe rest solely with the client. We expect that the cake is kept in good condition – in a cool, stable place. We will therefore not be held responsible for anything that happens to the cake afterwards.
Once an agreed date has been fixed, we do not allow changes in date of delivery or pickup.
In the event that inflation affect prices of goods and services at the period of event, our prices will be adjusted to reflect current market realities.
How To Preserve Leftover Cake
For buttercream cakes- Once a whipped cream or a swiss meringue buttercream cake is received, keep the cake in the refrigerator unless the place where the cake is kept is really cool. The temperature in many homes is quite high, hence keeping the cake in a warm place will melt all the decorations on it.
Fondant cakes should be kept in a cool place preferably under the AC.
Please note that cakes should not be left in a hot car or hot boot. If you have lots of errands to do, let cake pick-up be your last point of call.
Once a cake has been cut through or poked, wrap the cake with a foil or a plastic wrap (cling film) “tightly and completely “around the cake. Keep the cake in the refrigerator or in the freezer (if you are not planning to eat it anytime soon). Whenever you are ready to eat it, bring out the cake from the freezer – PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE WRAP. Leave the cake to thaw. The water will condense on the wrap. Your cake will taste the way it was kept in the freezer.
Please don’t leave your cut cake on the dining table or in the kitchen. It will dry out.
